Hi all

I've had a rather disastrous morning. I've got a rotten cold to start with, I went downstairs to make a cup of tea, yanked the milk carton out of the fridge, the plastic bit of shelf went on the floor and broke.

Not content with doing that, I tried to open the dishwasher, the plastic bit you pull to open it came off in my hand! Both appliances are very old, and maybe the plastic was very brittle, but I'm not sure they can be mended. 2 rather expensive items to be replaced. John was not best pleased, he's now trying to mend the shelf, so I'm keeping out of the way and have taken myself back to bed.

Hi Lyn, as snug as a bug and warmly wrapped up in bed is the best place to be with a cold. Ah yes and drinking a nice hot toddy!

I know you said that your appliances are old, but it might be worthwhile checking the manufactures sites to see if you can still get replacement parts. If not, John Lewis have a clearance sale on at the moment and there are quite a few good deals around in the sales.
